For You & Your Manager

Convince Your Boss

Three days at the McEnery Convention Center in San José to bring back what's actually working across AI, platform, security, and product engineering. Here's the case for your manager — including a ready-to-send email.

For Your Team

Why Sending Someone Pays Off

WeAreDevelopers World Congress is a working investment in the team, not a perk. Here's what your manager actually gets back.

The Numbers

What It Costs

See All Passes
  • Hotel

    ~$220–$420 / night

Three nights covers arrival the day before and the full program. Cheaper options exist further from downtown San José; partner hotels are released closer to the event.

  • Travel

    Varies by origin

San José is well-connected through Mineta San José International (SJC) and San Francisco International (SFO), with frequent domestic flights and Caltrain service into downtown. Booking 2–3 months ahead keeps it modest.

  • Meals & Local Transport

    ~$60–$100 / day

Catering on-site is included with your pass during program hours; this covers dinners and getting around the city.

All ranges are indicative and meant to help with budgeting — your finance team will want exact numbers from your usual booking tools.

After The Event

What You'll Bring Back

A short list of concrete commitments you can offer your manager when you ask. Specific enough to mean something, open enough that you actually keep them.

  • A written trip report with the talks worth watching and the ideas worth trying.

  • A 30-minute internal share-out with the team covering the most useful takeaways.

  • One or two small experiments to run on a current project, with a follow-up next quarter.

  • A handful of new contacts in adjacent teams and companies you can reach out to later.

For Skeptical Managers

Questions Your Manager Will Ask

Is this worth three days out of office?

The program runs Wednesday to Friday, with travel days on either side. The team gets back patterns and decisions that compound, plus on-demand recordings of the sessions you missed — so the time out of office translates into reusable knowledge, not just a calendar gap.

Can more than one person from the team go?

Yes. Sending two or three people from the same team usually works better than sending one — different sessions get covered, and the share-out afterwards is richer. Group ticketing is available; reach out and we'll help.

What if plans change after we book?

Tickets can be transferred to another colleague if the person who originally booked can no longer attend.

How does this compare to other conferences?

WeAreDevelopers World Congress is one of the largest developer-focused events in the world, with a builder-first agenda focused on how to build, run, test, secure, and ship great software - and how to give it superpowers with AI. The point isn't that it's the only event worth going to — it's that one trip covers a lot of ground across AI, platform, and security in one place.

What about visas, travel, and accommodation?

We can issue an official invitation letter for visa applications once a ticket is paid for. Travel and accommodation are arranged by the attendee through the company's usual booking tools.
