1. Plan ahead

‍We’re sure you already have an idea of the talks and happenings you don’t want to miss at the congress. For the best planning experience, download the official event app (iOS / Android) before the event. There is also a web platform.

The app is the easiest way to turn your thoughts into your personalized schedule before the actual event. Talks, workshops, community chats, matchmaking, and any other activity you can think of are all included in the app for you to cherry-pick from and swiftly add to your very own schedule.

No worries, there is no way to watch all 250 sessions in person, unless you are able to clone yourself multiple times. Pick the sessions you really want to watch in person, and watch the rest on-demand after the Congress ends.

Our 2 cents: Aiming to attend 3-5 sessions per day and spending the rest genuinely connecting with other people at the event might be the best way to go.

To avoid long queues for lunch, keep in mind that the food court will be open throughout the event. We suggest choosing less popular timeslots during the day.

2. Use the pre-check-in option

To save yourself some time and secure faster access to the venue, we suggest making use of pre-check-in options on Monday, June 13th - one day before the event.

🕑 2PM – 8PM (CEST)
📍 Messedamm 26, 14055 Berlin

The best way to arrive is to use the S-Train. Exit at station Messe Nord/ICC, Messe Süd. We’ll serve some drinks and music onsite!

SLOWER OPTION WITH A STUNNING VIEW
👉 Motel One Upper West – 10th floor
🕛 12PM – 5PM (CEST)
📍 Kantstraße 163-165, 10623 Berlin

Please note that there might be longer waiting times at this check-in station, depending on the number of people who choose this option, but the terrace and bar with a stunning view over Berlin are worth the wait.

If you’re not making it in time for pre-check-in, we’d advise getting to the venue on the event day as early as possible. The official Congress opening on the main stage starts at 09:15 am.

3. Engage with experts in the expo area

The expo area is not only about cool freebies and exclusive giveaways (although we indeed love them too), but also about connecting with other attendees, speakers, and congress partners.

Stop by the stands and have a friendly chat - you’ll find fellow developers from the world’s leading companies simply looking to hang out and exchange ideas. Maybe it’s exactly here where you’ll find the solution to a problem you keep trying to solve on your own.

4. Don’t shy away from asking questions

Easily engage in the sessions’ Q&A through the app and discuss the presentations. Friendly reminder: there are no stupid questions and our speakers are always happy to respond.

5. Dare to try new things

Given that you decided to join an 8,000+ developers conference, your willingness to step out of your comfort zone (and your blissful home office, most probably) is an admirable personal treat.With that in mind, WeAreDevelopers World Congress is one of the rare global events that cover topics from the entire software development cycle - use this opportunity to get inspired by insights other than your own daily tech stack.

You probably expected this one, but we feel like it’s necessary to mention that the event is happening after a global pandemic.
