As Chief Technology Officer, Alexander Gerfer is responsible for establishing the Würth Elektronik eiSos Group as a technology enabler and service leader. The company is one of Europe's largest manufacturers of electronic and electromechanical components and part of the Würth Group. Gerfer began his career at Würth Elektronik eiSos 29 years ago as a technical sales representative. Since then, he has held various positions in the company.
In his role as CTO, he particularly promotes technology partnerships in future-oriented areas. With his expert knowledge, he passionately supports and advises innovative start-ups, especially when they encounter unexpected technical problems in the implementation of their ideas.
In line with the principle ‘Electronics for Positive Impact’, Alexander Gerfer is committed to sustainable, environmentally friendly and socially forward-looking technologies. For example, the company is researching LED light recipes for optimal photosynthesis and more efficient electronics. Würth Elektronik particularly supports innovative, ecological start-ups, for example in the areas of algae and mushroom cultivation, harvesting robots or biodiversity measurement.
During the course of his career, Gerfer has also played a key role in the development and expansion of research and development, as well as product, quality and supply chain management. As an author of specialist books, the electrical engineer and trained radio and television technician presents complex interrelations in an easy-to-understand and practical way. He is also a sought-after keynote speaker at conferences around the world.
