Michael is the President of SAP Business Technology Platform and Member of the Extended Board. His team prioritizes security, reliability, and next-generation user experience for SAP Business Technology Platform (SAP BTP). As SAP’s leading platform, SAP BTP offers the technical foundation essential for driving customer success and enabling Generative AI-powered applications. Additionally, Michael’s team is responsible for the success of core products such as SAP Build, SAP Integration Suite, SAP HANA Cloud and SAP BTP ABAP environment. He joined SAP in 2006 as a Research Associate and has since advanced through various technical leadership roles, including Development Manager and Senior Vice President and Managing Director of SAP Labs Dresden. He has a strong passion in for software architecture and fosters close collaboration across all boundaries. Michael holds a Ph.D. in computer science and a diploma in media computer science from Technische Universität Dresden. A father of four, Michael lives with his family in Dresden.
Axel Schell

Axel Schell is driving the AI adoption at Allianz Technology and transforming the company into an innovative and customer centric tech company. He joined the Executive Management Team of Allianz Technology, the IT company of the Allianz group, as the Chief Technology and Transformation Officer in January 2021. His mission and passion to modernize and transform the IT landscape as well as the ways of working was rewarded with the “CIO of the Year 2021” award by the German speaking CIO Magazine and the “European Digital Leader of the Year 2023” award by CIONET. He started this transformation journey already in his previous roles: Since his start at Allianz in 2002 he has demonstrated not just a specialist knowledge on IT management but also a distinct feeling for the needs of the business and future Tech trends. He is a techie with knowledge for economy and vice versa: Axel completed his studies in Business Administration and obtained a doctoral degree in Information Systems from the University of Augsburg. He is fluent in German, English, and French. Axel is married and has two children. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family on a tennis court, coding and watching American basketball.
