Johannes Kopf

Johannes Kopf, LL.M. is the Chairman of the Executive Board of the Public Employment Service Austria, AMS, where he continues to shape Austria's policymaking for labor market and employment. Prior to becoming executive chairman in July 2023, Johannes served as a member of the Executive Board of the Public Employment Service Austria from July 2006 to June 2023, as well as Chairman of the Network of European Public Employment Services (PES) from July 2019 to June 2023. Born and raised in Vienna, Austria, Johannes holds a doctorate in law and an LL.M. in European law. He is a well-respected labor market expert, having gained valuable professional experience in the cabinet of former Minister for Economics and Labour, Dr. Martin Bartenstein, and as a member of the Board of Directors of the AMS Austria, both from 2003 to mid-2006. Before his time in the ministry, he was a consultant for the Federation of Austrian Industries, also with a focus on labour market and employment policies. In addition to his ongoing work at AMS Austria, Johannes was awarded the Humanity Prize of the Heinrich Treichl Foundation by the Austrian Red Cross in 2017. He is also an award-winning photographer and highly regarded DJ.
