Stefan Lehmann was appointed Chief Executive Officer of Generali Deutschland as of September 2022 and is a member of the Group Management Committee of Assicurazioni Generali. He is responsible for the strategic direction of Generali Deutschland, which is one of the leading primary insurers in the German market, and is driving profitable growth, sustainable value creation, transformation across the organization and digitalization. Stefan holds a degree in Economics from the University of Bochum and an Executive MBA in General & Strategic Management from the Maastricht School of Management. Prior to his studies, he completed a banking apprenticeship. Stefan started his professional career at WestLB Panmure Investment Banking in London and Düsseldorf. Since 2004, he has held a series of senior management positions at Generali Deutschland, including Head of Participations Management, Head of Corporate Controlling & Development at Generali Deutschland Claims Management, Head of Customer Service at CosmosDirekt Versicherungen, and Head of Strategic Planning & Controlling of Generali Deutschland. In 2017, Stefan was promoted to Chief Financial Officer of Generali Deutschland and in this role, he held different board roles in group companies. From January to August 2022, he was appointed Chief Business Officer Exclusive of Generali Deutschland with responsibility for the partnership with Deutsche Vermögensberatung AG. Since September 2022 he has been Chief Executive Officer of Generali Deutschland. Since his appointment as CEO, Stefan has been shaping Generali Deutschland with a clear focus on profitable growth, sustainable value creation, cultural transformation, and digitalization. Under his leadership, the company has achieved significant profitable growth across all lines of business. At the same time, he drove a fundamental cultural transformation, repositioning Generali Deutschland from a more traditional insurance organization to a truly modern and attractive employer.
