Job description

As a SAS Viya DevOps Engineer you will be part of the Mighty squad and in that role you will be responsible for the roll out, configuration, upgrade and maintenance of the underlying tooling based on SAS Viya 3.5 by applying CI/CD techniques and SRE principles.

  • Analyze and Design features/solutions
  • Build code from scratch or maintain/extend existing implementations for provisioning, configuring, enhancing the Platform using CI/CD techniques in Azure DevOps
  • Test and execute deployment and rollback scripts in the Test & Acceptance environments
  • Apply Continuous Integration/ Delivery practices in the team: automated Build, Deploy, Test and maintenance of Continuous Delivery tooling and scripting.
  • Continuously improve the automation of testing and deployment tools and activities
  • Arrange and operate Development, Test, Acceptance & Production environments
  • Realize non-functional requirements, for example regarding Confidentiality, Integrity and Availability, risk, compliance and security, in line with existing policies and at all levels (OS, application)
  • Apply version control and software configuration management
  • Write test cases and test scripts as part of Automated Deployment, test applications in the Dev, Test & Acceptance environments and gather test evidences as required by the Change Management Procedures
  • Solve findings found during testing
  • Perform root cause analyses
  • Perform Support Hero Role along with other colleagues – Solve Incidents and Calls raised on the Platform
  • Understand any expected changes in behaviour after a specific release, and take appropriate action if actual behaviour is not in line with what was expected.
  • Configure and implementing Monitoring Tooling to enable 24x7 monitoring using appropriate Event Alerts.
  • Understand the detailed technical behaviour of your system under normal and peak loads.
  • Understand the behaviour of your Application in failure scenarios, and drive improvements in line with ING’s Reliability objectives.
  • Actively participate in the Agile/Scrum events of the team like Standups, Refinements, Sprint Reviews, Retrospectives

Requirements

We are looking for you, if you:

  • are a team player, persistent, service-oriented, customer centric, eager to learn, an entrepreneur.
  • love technology, searching for root causes of issues and incidents and come up with structural solutions
  • have 5+ years of software engineering experience, preferably in creating scalable,  secure, stable,  reliable platforms
  • You are able to develop and tune efficient and maintainable code with the right balance between solving the problem at hand and not over-engineering your solution.
  • have experience on LINUX (RHEL) Operating System,
  • have experience in infrastructure and application administration,
  • have experience with CI/CD pipelines,
  • have experience with Ansible,
  • have experience with integrating commercial off-the-shelf applications like SAS within complex domains.
  • have experience with scripting languages and automation of manual activities (testing, deployment)
  • have good knowledge of implementation of security measures
  • have good English communication skills, verbal as well as written.

You'll get extra points for:

  • experience of SAS VIYA 3.5 or SAS VIYA 4.0,
  • experience of working on Azure Cloud
  • knowledge of monitoring and alerting tooling or knowledge any of the following (Kibana, Logstash, Prometheus),
  • Good knowledge of security standards
  • Knowledge/experience of working on containerised platforms
  • Experience in maintaining an Oracle database.
