You and your role

As Sub Area Lead Data, you will build a strong Data department within Financial Economic Crime (FEC), ensuring future-proof, consistent, and reliable data, together with high-performing teams and extensive stakeholder alignment.

• Deliver a robust FEC Data Layer as the foundation for all FEC models, systems, and reports, including an effective adoption strategy which requires excellent stakeholder management and alignment with the other FEC Tech Areas and FEC pillars in the business.
• Initiate and drive the FEC Next Level Data Strategy, data innovation and advanced GenAI initiatives
• Ensure world class Data Management across FEC and ensure our FEC data publication team is positioned as a horizontal service provider within FEC Tech.

Top responsibilities

• Lead the delivery and adoption of a reliable and consistent FEC Data Layer, maximizing coverage of high-quality global data for all FEC models, systems, and reports, in alignment with consuming Areas.
• Drive the FEC Next Level Data Strategy, including initiating strategic initiatives to improve data availability, data quality and roles and responsibilities leading to a strong data culture across FEC.
• Oversee Data Management across FEC, including BCBS 239 compliance, chairing the Data Quality Board FEC, alignment with consumers and producers and representing FEC in the Data Quality Committee Rabobank.
• Advance GenAI Data & Insights and drive innovation in data, including the unstructured data proposition and the further development of future-proof data solutions for FEC.
• Develop staff capabilities and skills to ensure that employees remain relevant and professional in product development, and to steer on improved data driven journeys.

You will be positioned as the Sub Area Lead of Data within the Area Data & Insights, part of the Tribe FEC Tech. You will collaborate closely with the Area Lead and Sub Area Triangle. Together with the Tech Lead and Sub Area Architect, you will steer the Sub Area towards maturity and excellence. You lead the squads for the FEC Data Layer (1 team onshore and 2 offshore), GenAI Data & Insights, Data Publication (onshore and offshore), and the Chapter Data Management FEC. The Product Owners, the Chapter Lead (i.e. manager) Data Management, Data Scientists and the Lead Expert will report to you.

• Senior management experience in data and analytics within large, regulated organizations.
• Academic working and thinking level with 10+ years relevant managerial experience.
• Communication and influencing skills at the highest level, motivating and inspiring employees and managing conflicting interests across a broad stakeholder field.
• Expert knowledge and vision on Data and GenAI.
• Thorough understanding of business processes related to data products and services, data management frameworks, and data architecture.
• Comfortable navigating complex landscapes and engaging at both senior management and technical team levels.
• Original and creative thinker.
• Demonstrated experience guiding departments through transformation and building strong teams, in agile and hybrid environments.
