Job description

As the Infrastructure Design Team Lead, you'll own the team responsible for the UK Shared Services Platform-providing the UK government with a fully maintained, certified service management and tooling platform. With over 90 government contracts already on board, you'll help lead the next wave of technical evolution as we move government services to the cloud. This is a unique opportunity to make a real impact on public safety, while tackling complex challenges across people, processes, physical environments, and technical solutions., * Taking design ownership of a complex tooling, network management, and service management platform.

  • Overseeing our cloud-first journey for future government contracts.
  • Providing detailed costings to support new business opportunities.
  • Working closely with in-life operations to ensure service levels are consistently met.
  • Maintaining a clear roadmap for obsolescence, software versioning, and licensing.
  • Managing a multi-disciplined team covering database, networks, security, virtualisation, and cloud technologies.
  • Collaborating with security teams to ensure platform health and prepare for annual certifications.
  • Driving security and compliance, including risk management and thorough testing.
  • Leading documentation, training, and knowledge sharing to empower your team and end-users.
  • Working collaboratively with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and smooth operations.

Requirements

  • A proven background in managing secure platforms within UK government or regulated environments.
  • Familiarity with IT security best practices, data protection, and incident management tools (e.g., JIRA, ServiceNow).
  • Experience working in certified environments and understanding government security regulations.
  • Proven people management and leadership background.

  • Demonstrated experience solving complex problems and making sound decisions under pressure.
