Job description
Responsible for delivering accurate and assured scheme data related activities, you'll coordinate and ensure consistency and best practice data management principles are applied in Enterprise Systems.
Liaising with a broad range of internal stakeholders, you'll maintain & control the asset, geospatial and work management data to ensure that all 250,000 assets that exist on the Electricity Transmission system are correctly registered and recognised in the regulated asset value.
In addition, you'll coach and mentor users who need specialist knowledge and produce timely updates of the Electricity Asset Register for the annual capital plan, ensuring that the financial records are correctly attributed to the recorded assets. This will ensure accurate unit costs are derived which underpin future cost targeting, asset intervention planning and regulatory requirements., * Provide comprehensive expert advice, guidance and support in respect of resolution of issues such as complex asset inventory issues, the requirements of new technology and process queries.
- Ensure satisfactory delivery of key data requirements for ET's asset data and information systems ensuring the timely and accurate submission, as defined via TP500 Network Development Process, and BP221 Technical Data Process and Assurance processes.
- Provide expert input and advice in support of the updating and managing of NG policies and procedures in relation to asset data ensuring their compliance with National Grid wider business standards.
- Build and maintain robust project stakeholder relationships with relevant business functions in order to provide support, share best practice and to challenge where necessary ensuring all lessons learned are incorporated.
- Support activities of Asset Operations as required subject to business priorities, including data collection, analysis and cleanse activities.
Requirements
Do you have experience in VBA?, * Advanced Excel skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills for presenting findings to stakeholders.
- Experience of data management and assurance in an asset engineering environment
- Proficiency in data analysis tools and techniques such as Advanced Excel (VBA, Macros), Python, Tableau, Power BI, SQL etc
- Ability to understand complex engineering or data management concepts and translate these appropriately to reflect the audience you are speaking to.
- Proficient understanding of the technical documentation suite and technical requirements
- Knowledge and/or experience of extracting and manipulating data from ET Geospatial, Asset and Work Management System.
- Awareness of fixed asset accounting and the requirements of Sarbannes Oxley

A competitive salary around £42,000 - £52,000 - dependent on capability
