Job description

Reporting to the IT Manager, you will play a key role in optimising and supporting the business Infrastructure that underpins our daily operations. This is an excellent opportunity to work at the intersection of technology and business, ensuring our teams have the tools, data, and insights they need to perform at their best.

The purpose of the role is to provide support and technical assistance across all areas of the company's IT environment. The role will be key to ensuring that adequate levels of support are maintained across the business whilst various projects are completed successfully. Working alongside the IT Manager, you'll also contribute to ongoing projects that shape the future of our digital environment and strengthen the cooperative's technology foundations.

Main Accountabilities:

· Serve as the first point of contact for internal staff seeking technical assistance over the phone, email, or in person.

· Provide 1st and 2nd line support to users, taking ownership of problems through to resolution whilst maintaining detailed logs of steps taken to resolve.

· Diagnose and resolve hardware, Windows, Microsoft Office, printing, and software problems remotely and desk-side.

· Manage and prioritise IT Service desk queries and calls.

· Escalate unresolved issues to our outsourced IT providers when appropriate. Create, manage and troubleshoot Users within a hybrid Microsoft environment (Active Directory, Entra ID, Office 365) and other business systems.

· Manage and maintain accurate records of IT assets, including devices, users, computers, groups, and access to resources.

. Perform regular server environment and backup checks.

. Conduct periodic system performance checks, applying improvements where necessary.

· Managing spam filter and troubleshooting mail flow.

· Create and maintain documentation of underlying processes, services, and systems.

· Undertake tasks to ensure the smooth operation of the various IT systems, assist on project work and eventually take ownership of certain functions within the IT infrastructure.

· Identify and suggest possible improvements to procedures.

Requirements

Do you have experience in VPN?, * Solid understanding of Windows 11 and Microsoft Office applications.

  • Experience with Active Directory, Microsoft 365, and Azure.
  • Familiarity with Windows Server 2016/2019.
  • Experience supporting LAN, WAN, and VPN environments and a basic understanding of networking principles.
  • Hardware troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience with Mimecast or similar email security systems.
  • Proficiency with Excel, including writing and modifying formulas.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics or Salesforce (desirable).
  • Ability to understand and write basic SQL queries.
  • Experience managing telephone systems (on-premises PBX, IP PBX, or cloud-hosted).
  • Relevant IT certifications such as CompTIA or Microsoft MCE (advantageous).
  • Minimum 12 months of recent experience in an IT support environment., * Proficiency in English with excellent communication skills.
  • A positive attitude.
  • Good understanding of computer systems, mobile devices, and other tech products.
  • Methodical approach to problem-solving.
  • Ability to conduct research into PC issues and products as required.
  • Well-organised, focused, and able to work to deadlines.
  • Willing to undertake further training to fulfil the requirements of the role, · GCSE or equivalent (Preferred)

· IT Support: 1 year (Preferred)

  • Microsoft or other IT certification
