Job description

We are seeking a talented and motivated WordPress Developer to join our team. This role is primarily based at our Paignton office, with the flexibility to work in a hybrid manner on some days once settled in the role., You will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and enhancing WordPress websites that deliver an exceptional user experience. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys both front-end and back-end development, has an eye for design, and thrives on solving technical challenges., * Design, develop, and maintain WordPress websites, themes, and plugins

  • Collaborate with designers, marketers, and stakeholders to translate requirements into functional solutions
  • Customise existing themes and plugins to meet project specifications
  • Ensure websites are responsive, accessible, and optimised for speed and SEO
  • Implement integrations with third-party tools, APIs, and e-commerce platforms
  • Troubleshoot issues and provide ongoing technical support
  • Stay up to date with the latest WordPress trends, technologies, and best practices

Requirements

Do you have experience in WordPress?, * Proven experience as a WordPress Developer or in a similar role

  • Strong proficiency in PHP, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and MySQL
  • Experience with WordPress theme and plugin development
  • Knowledge of popular page builders (e.g. Elementor)
  • Familiarity with e-commerce platforms (WooCommerce preferred)
  • Understanding of website performance optimisation and SEO principles
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team

Desirable

  • Experience with version control (Git)
  • Familiarity with REST APIs and headless WordPress
  • Knowledge of security best practices
  • Exposure to Agile or Scrum methodologies
  • Knowledge of Generative Engine Optimisation
