Job description
We are seeking a skilled and proactive IT Technician to support the technology infrastructure within our ergonomics-focused organisation.
The IT Technician will be responsible for maintaining computer hardware and software, troubleshooting technical issues, and delivering technical support to both internal teams and external clients using specialised ergonomic and assistive technology equipment.
This role involves close collaboration with assistive technology and ergonomics teams to ensure seamless integration, reliability, and performance of IT systems that improve workplace accessibility and efficiency., Technical Support & Troubleshooting
- Provide day-to-day technical support for internal staff, troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues
- Set up and configure IT systems, including workstations, peripherals, and assistive devices used in ergonomic environments
- Troubleshoot issues relating to assistive technology hardware and software solutions
- Support remote users via phone, email, and remote desktop tools
- Provide onsite technical support where required
Hardware & Software Maintenance
- Install, upgrade, and maintain computer hardware, software, and operating systems
- Perform regular system checks, diagnostics, and preventative maintenance
- Manage and maintain IT equipment inventory, ensuring availability for staff and clients
Network & Security Management
- Maintain data backup processes and troubleshoot storage or data access issues
- Support basic network and security management in line with best practice
Client Technical Support
- Assist with the setup and ongoing support of assistive technology software and hardware solutions for clients
- Provide guidance and technical assistance to clients using IT-related ergonomic tools
- Work closely with assistive technology specialists to ensure smooth integration of solutions into client workplaces
Requirements
Do you have a valid Driving Licence license?, Do you have experience in Technical support?, Essential
- Proven experience as an IT Technician or in a similar technical support role
- Strong knowledge of computer hardware, software, operating systems (Windows, macOS, and Linux), and networking fundamentals
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve issues efficiently
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to support both technical and non-technical users
- Understanding of network security protocols and data protection best practices
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Full UK driving licence
Desirable
- Experience installing and supporting assistive technology or ergonomic software and devices
- Experience working within the ergonomics or assistive technology sector
- Relevant industry certifications such as CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP), or similar
