Job description
We are seeking a dedicated IT Technician to provide comprehensive technical support within our organisation. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting computer systems, networks, and hardware to ensure seamless operational efficiency. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about technology and customer service to contribute to a dynamic team environment., * Install, configure, and maintain computer hardware, operating systems (Windows, macOS, Linux) and software applications such as Microsoft Office.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to software, hardware, network connectivity, VPNs, firewalls, and operating systems.
- Provide technical support to end-users via help desk platforms including BMC Remedy, ServiceNow, and Jira.
- Manage and support local area networks (LAN), including switches and routers.
- Assist with the setup and maintenance of security measures such as firewalls and VPN connections.
- Conduct routine system updates, backups, and security checks to safeguard organisational data.
- Document technical procedures and solutions clearly for future reference.
- Collaborate with other IT team members to implement system upgrades and new technology integrations.
- Deliver excellent customer service by communicating technical information effectively to non-technical staff.
Requirements
Do you have experience in macOS?, * Proven experience in computer networking, desktop support, or IT support roles.
- Strong knowledge of operating systems including Windows, macOS, and Linux.
- Familiarity with network protocols such as LAN, VPNs, and firewall configurations.
- Experience with troubleshooting software issues across various platforms using tools like Jira or ServiceNow.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and other common business applications.
- Knowledge of computer hardware components and maintenance procedures.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to provide clear technical guidance.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Relevant certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA) are desirable but not essential.
