Do you want a hands-on IT role where you're not just closing tickets-you're keeping a whole business running? We're looking for a proactive and reliable IT Support Administrator to deliver high-quality 1st and 2nd line support to a busy tool hire company. You'll work closely with the IT Manager and wider IT team to ensure smooth day-to-day operations, manage IT assets, and support a range of systems and projects. This is a varied role and much more than a support desk job. You will have the opportunity to learn and ultimately manage all the technical aspects that allow a business to operate, everything from the network infrastructure, cybersecurity to the automation of systems.
What you'll be doing:
- Act as the first point of contact for technical queries, providing 1st and 2nd line support onsite and remotely (phone/email/remote access).
- Log, update, and resolve tickets via the IT helpdesk system, ensuring SLAs are met.
- Diagnose and fix hardware, software, network, and peripheral issues.
- Build, install, and maintain PCs, laptops, mobiles, printers, and peripherals.
- Support a Microsoft stack: Windows, Microsoft 365, Active Directory, Office apps.
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and licensing across systems (Active Directory, Office 365).
- Support onboarding and offboarding processes, including device provisioning and access setup.
- Administer endpoint security and device management solutions
- Maintain and troubleshoot IT hardware, networking, VPNs, and printers.
- Maintain accurate IT documentation, including asset registers and knowledge base articles.
- Coordinate with external vendors for hardware repairs, replacements, and license renewals.
- Ensure compliance with IT security, GDPR, and data protection policies.
- Contribute to IT projects, rollouts, upgrades, and process improvements.
Requirements
Do you have a valid Driving Licence license?, Do you have experience in TCP/IP?, * A genuine interest in IT and problem solving - not just following steps or asking Chat GPT
- A passion for supporting and helping people
- Knowledge of Microsoft 365 and Active Directory
- Knowledge of network fundamentals: TCP/IP, switches etc.
- Ability to prioritise and work under pressure
This role is based from our Rochester depot but there will be the requirement for flexibility and travel to our depots in Canning Town, Croydon and Park Royal as needed. (Access to a vehicle is preferred)
