Job description

West Suffolk council continues on a journey of ambitious change and are committed to being more commercial. With the new "Better Recycling" coming in 2026, we are seeking a full time Technical Officer (Data) who will report directly to the Service Liaison Manager in the Waste and Street Scene department. Duties for this post include (and are not limited to) running, generating and interpreting regular data reports for the Waste and Street Scene department. Duties also include assisting in dealing directly with resident queries relating to all areas of the Waste and Street Scene department, assessing applications, new accounts, and keeping the in-house system up to date.

Requirements

You will possess excellent IT skills, have proven experience of working with all areas of Excel and Word and the ability to read data and run reports. This role provides an essential point of contact for residents and internal stakeholders; therefore, a professional manner is essential. You will also possess the drive and desire to improve the service we deliver, along with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines, be highly organised, and have attention to detail and accuracy; all of which are vital for this role.
