Job description

Familiarisation with Unity software for the development of applications in the field of cardiology.

  • Portability of applications previously developed for Microsoft HoloLens 2 to Magic Leap 2 and Meta Quest 3.

  • Study of the OpenIGTLink communication protocol for the exchange of volumetric images and geometric transformations.

  • Development in Python for 3D Slicer.

  • Familiarisation with optical positioning systems for the quantification of AR projection errors.

  • Documentation of the code and preparation of user manuals to facilitate adoption in

  • Technical and clinical validation: organisation of pilot tests with healthcare personnel (experts and residents), collection of metrics and analysis of results.

  • Presentation of results at internal meetings, conferences and scientific publications.

  • Support for the planning of future developments and possible lines of doctoral research within the project. Specific Requirements

Requirements

Undergraduate, Familiarisation with the group's workflow on topics related to surgical navigation and image-guided treatments., Master's degree (completed or to be completed in 2026) in Biomedical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering or other related degree with an emphasis on digital design, application development and/or 3D technologies.

  • Experience or keen interest in clinical software development.

  • Experience in medical image processing (segmentation and creation of biomodels).

  • Experience in application development in Unity.

  • Knowledge of cardiology.

  • Advanced knowledge of Python and C# programming languages.

  • Experience in research projects with publications, posters or presentations at conferences.

  • Motivation to start or continue doctoral studies in fields related to the project.

  • Ability to design and execute clinical validation studies: protocols, collection of metrics, statistical analysis and report writing.

  • Cross-disciplinary skills: multidisciplinary teamwork, effective communication with clinical profiles and ability to plan milestones.
