Job description

We have an excellent opportunity for an IT Support Technician to join a well-established and busy IT function on an approximately 6-month contract, supporting a diverse user base across office and operational environments. This role will suit an individual with strong 1st Line IT experience who is able to logically troubleshoot issues and provide effective technical support both remotely and onsite. You will play a key role in maintaining IT infrastructure availability, ensuring users receive a high level of service, and supporting the delivery of ongoing IT projects. Working in a fast-paced environment, you will be expected to communicate clearly, prioritise effectively, and work collaboratively with colleagues to resolve incidents., * Provide remote and onsite technical support to end users

  • Log all support tickets accurately, maintaining clear and regular progress updates
  • Keep end users informed throughout the issue resolution process
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues on major incident resolution
  • Create and maintain knowledge base documentation by recording resolutions
  • Proactively identify potential problems and system issues
  • Complete daily routine checks to ensure IT infrastructure availability
  • Provide hardware installation and setup support for users
  • Administer user accounts within Office 365 and Active Directory
  • Assist with the implementation and documentation of IT projects

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a 1st Line IT support, service desk, or customer-facing IT role
  • Strong hardware and software troubleshooting skills within a Wintel environment
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Active Directory, Office 365 applications, iOS, VPNs, basic networking, and virtual machines
  • Experience with service, maintenance, and installation of IT equipment
  • Ability to learn new systems, including legacy platforms
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with users at all levels
  • Ability to work under pressure, manage priorities, and contribute positively as part of a team
