Job description
The Technical Support Engineer will provide hands-on technical support for Halo's products, supporting customers, internal teams, and field operations. The role combines fault diagnosis, product support, customer assistance, and continuous improvement feedback into engineering and R&D.
This position is key to ensuring Halo delivers reliable, compliant, and high-performance traffic management solutions to the market.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Support & Fault Diagnosis
- Provide technical support for Halo systems, and associated equipment* Diagnose faults in electrical, electronic, and communication systems* Support troubleshooting remotely and on customer sites* Analyse returned products and identify root causes
Customer & Field Support
- Act as a technical point of contact for customers and hire fleet teams* Assist with installation, commissioning, and system configuration* Deliver technical training to customers and internal staff* Support field trials and product rollouts
Product & Engineering Support
- Work closely with R&D and engineering teams to resolve technical issues* Provide feedback to support product improvement and reliability* Assist with validation testing and compliance checks* Support documentation including manuals and technical bulletins
Workshop & Repair Activities
- Carry out electronic repairs, diagnostics, and system testing* Support refurbishment and upgrade programmes* Maintain accurate service and repair records
Requirements
Do you have a valid Driving License license?, Do you have experience in Technical support?, Essential
- Experience in technical support, electronics, or electrical engineering* Strong fault-finding skills in electrical and electronic systems* Ability to interpret wiring diagrams and technical drawings* Good problem-solving and analytical skills* Strong communication skills with customers and internal teams* Full UK driving licence
Desirable
- Experience with traffic signals, ITS systems, or control equipment* Knowledge of radio communications or wireless systems* Experience with low-voltage DC power systems and batteries* PCB repair and electronic diagnostics experience* Understanding of standards compliance (e.g. CE marking), * HNC/HND or Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering (or equivalent experience), * Practical and hands-on mindset* Customer-focused and professional* Self-motivated and organised* Able to work independently and as part of a team* Willing to travel when required
