Job description
Join Blackpool Council as an MIS and Business Support Officer to cover maternity leave. This role is crucial for leading the development, management, and strategic use of our data systems. You will be instrumental in ensuring compliance with new LCCA funding rules and managing the Individual Learner Record (ILR).
Day-to-day of the role:
- Lead the development and management of the MIS, ensuring efficient data collection processes from front-line to MIS systems.
- Compile and submit data in compliance with funding rules, ensuring all data is accurate and submitted on time.
- Produce and analyse management reports to support planning, performance monitoring, and decision-making.
- Work closely with Curriculum and Quality Managers to ensure effective use of data.
- Manage the administration function, ensuring support to managers and accurate data input.
- Develop and enhance the dashboard system for better data visualisation and reporting.
- Provide training for managers and staff to enhance their use of digital systems.
- Manage financial transactions and budget monitoring for the service, ensuring accuracy and effective financial planning.
- Lead marketing and promotional activities, manage content for websites and social media, and engage with internal and external partners.
- Handle exam registration, certification, and invigilation processes.
Requirements
- Proven experience with MIS systems and knowledge of ILR Specifications.
- Familiarity with up-to-date funding rules and compliance requirements.
- Strong analytical skills and experience in producing detailed management reports.
- Excellent organisational and leadership skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and lead a team effectively.
- Strong communication skills and proficiency in digital systems.
- Experience in education and skills funding agency (ESFA) and Ofsted requirements is highly desirable.
