Job description

  • Support the delivery and ongoing maintenance of a wide range of IT systems across the organisation.
  • Undertake complex fault diagnosis, resolution, and provide end-user support across hardware, software, and telephony systems.
  • Carry out routine and emergency maintenance on IT and communication systems including network hardware, switches, routers, and firewalls.
  • Provide primary frontline support to the Trust's Control Rooms and associated hardware and software.
  • Assist in managing Active Directory, email systems, and the AVAYA VOIP telephony system.
  • Configure and support smartphones and tablets, including backend systems such as BES12 and Airwatch.
  • Maintain the Trust's Remote Access Solutions, including Citrix portals and SafeNet keyfob configuration.
  • Respond appropriately to cyber security threats and implement protective measures as directed.
  • Record and manage IT assets, updating inventory systems to reflect changes and usage.
  • Liaise with third-party vendors for equipment servicing and software support, ensuring issues are resolved promptly.
  • Conduct regular site visits for IT deployments, repairs, and infrastructure assessments.
  • Participate in team meetings and assist in IT service improvements.
  • Mentor and support junior IT staff and those on work placements.
  • Participate in project work and provide support to service improvement initiatives as directed.
  • Procure and manage ICT consumables via eProc systems, maintaining effective stock control.
  • Take part in the out-of-hours IT on-call rota as required.

Requirements

Are you an experienced IT professional with a background in technical support and systems maintenance? Looking to step into a pivotal role within the public sector? If so, we may have the perfect opportunity for you., * University Degree (or equivalent professional qualification) in ICT with at least 1 year's relevant experience.

OR

  • HND (or equivalent) in ICT with at least 2 years' relevant experience.

OR

  • A minimum of 4 years' relevant experience in ICT support roles.

Other:

  • Practical experience in installation and support of networked computer equipment, including PCs, printers, and switches.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft desktop applications and Windows operating systems.
  • Experience supporting IT networks and configuring network hardware.
  • Familiarity with Help Desk Management Systems.
  • Working knowledge of intranet/internet technologies.
  • Full UK driving licence and/or access to transport to fulfil the requirements of the role.*

Benefits & conditions

  • Full-time, Temporary.
  • 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
  • Based at NIAS HQ, Knockbracken Healthcare Park. Travel across Northern Ireland required.
