Job description
A large utility company in Washington is seeking a Manager, IT Network and Voice to lead the Network and Voice engineering team supporting a large, complex enterprise environment with over 3,000 employees and multiple data centers. This role owns the strategy, operations, and modernization of the company's network and voice infrastructure across business offices, generation plants, and substations throughout Washington state. On a day-to-day basis, this leader: Manages and mentors the Network and Voice engineering team Oversees SD-WAN deployment at remote generation plants as part of Grid Modernization initiatives Drives network and voice infrastructure modernization across data centers, offices, substations, and field locations Manages enterprise voice systems supporting all employees Partners with business stakeholders to enhance contact center capabilities and customer service for 1.5M customers Identifies opportunities for automation and system integration across network and voice platforms Oversees vendor relationships to improve monitoring, observability, and service delivery Develops proactive approaches to network reliability, performance, and resilience Supports technology road mapping, infrastructure planning, and future-state design
Requirements
10+ years of experience in network systems and infrastructure, with strong hands-on technical knowledge Excellent communication and leadership skills Proven experience leading and managing technical teams Experience operating and maintaining LAN / WLAN / WAN / MAN in multi-platform environments Strong understanding of distributed network architecture and design Experience planning and delivering network infrastructure projects on time and within budget Experience with SD-WAN deployment and management Knowledge of business continuity, disaster recovery, and security risk assessment Experience managing enterprise voice / IP telephony systems
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
Experience working in or supporting utility operations Hands-on experience with Cisco networking products and solutions Prior experience with VoIP technologies and contact center platforms Relevant certifications, including: Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE) Experience with IT budgeting, cost optimization, and vendor management
