Job description

We’re seeking an experienced Payroll Manager or Payroll Director to lead a high-priority payroll remediation initiative following a complex HRIS/payroll entity merger. This role is ideal for a hands-on payroll leader who thrives in challenging environments, can quickly assess payroll issues, and has the expertise to restore payroll accuracy and confidence.

This is a highly visible opportunity to make an immediate impact by leading payroll cleanup efforts, strengthening processes, and partnering with leadership to stabilize payroll operations., * Lead a large-scale payroll remediation and data cleanup project following a complex entity merger

  • Audit, reconcile, and validate employee payroll and HRIS records to ensure complete data accuracy
  • Identify, investigate, and resolve payroll discrepancies, duplicate records, and data integrity issues
  • Serve as the primary resource for payroll cleanup, process improvements, and payroll accuracy initiatives
  • Partner with Payroll, HR, IT, and leadership to resolve complex payroll issues and improve workflows
  • Review payroll transactions and employee records while ensuring compliance with company policies and payroll regulations
  • Develop and implement best practices to improve payroll processes and strengthen internal controls
  • Maintain detailed documentation of issues, corrective actions, and project progress
  • Provide leadership and guidance throughout the remediation effort while maintaining a calm, solutions-focused approach

Requirements

  • Extensive payroll leadership experience at the Manager or Director level
  • Hands-on Paycor experience is required
  • Experience leading payroll remediation, HRIS implementations, payroll conversions, or large-scale payroll cleanup initiatives
  • Strong understanding of payroll operations, payroll compliance, and HRIS data management
  • Exceptional attention to detail with proven analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Experience auditing payroll data, identifying discrepancies, and implementing corrective actions
  • Ability to prioritize multiple high-impact initiatives while maintaining accuracy under pressure
  • Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to collaborate across Payroll, HR, IT, and executive leadership
  • Comfortable working independently in a hybrid environment
  • Available to start immediately
