Job description
Gensler is seeking a creative, strategic, and highly collaborative Social Media Specialist to support the South Central Region, including offices in Austin, Dallas, Houston, Kansas City, Nashville and San Antonio. This role will help elevate Genslerās brand, people, projects, thought leadership, and culture across social media channels while supporting regional business goals and employee engagement initiatives.
Working closely with the South Central Region PR and marketing teams, office and practice area leadership, and design professionals, the Social Media Specialist will develop and execute content strategies that amplify Genslerās impact across the region and strengthen our presence among clients, prospective employees, media, industry organizations, and community partners.
The ideal candidate is a strong storyteller, skilled content creator, and social media strategist who understands how to translate architecture, design, and workplace culture into compelling digital content.
What You Will Do
Social Media Strategy & Content Development
- Partner with marketing and PR teams to create visual branding guidelines and standards for social media content
- Develop and execute social media strategies aligned with regional business, brand, talent acquisition, and thought leadership objectives
- Manage content planning and publishing across Hootsuite Amplify and office Instagram accounts via Sprout Social
- Create and maintain regional content calendars in coordination with PR, marketing, and office leadership teams
- Identify timely opportunities to promote people, projects, awards, research, thought leadership, speaking engagements, community impact initiatives, and firm announcements
- Ensure all content aligns with Genslerās brand standards, voice, and messaging priorities
Content Creation
- Write, edit, and publish engaging social media content
- Partner with designers, architects, strategists, and subject matter experts to develop stories that showcase Genslerās work and expertise
- Capture and curate photography, video, and event content from across the region
- Develop short-form video content, employee spotlights, project features, office culture content, and event coverage
- Collaborate with office PR and marketing teams to create visually engaging assets
Employee Advocacy & Internal Engagement
- Serve as the regional lead for employee advocacy initiatives, including Hootsuite Amplify
- Train and support staff on social media best practices
- Identify opportunities to increase participation among leadership and subject matter experts
Project & Practice Promotion
- Support social media campaigns tied to major project milestones, openings, awards, rankings, and media coverage
- Promote thought leadership generated by Genslerās practice area and regional/office leadership
- Collaborate with PR and marketing teams to amplify earned media coverage and speaking opportunities
Analytics & Reporting
- Monitor and measure social media performance
- Prepare monthly and quarterly reporting on channel growth, engagement, audience trends, and content performance
- Provide recommendations to improve effectiveness and reach
- Stay informed on emerging social media trends, platform updates, and best practices
Requirements
- Bachelorās degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism, Digital Media, or related field
- 3 to 5+ years of professional social media, digital marketing, communications, or public relations experience
- Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills
- Experience managing LinkedIn, Instagram, and social media management platforms
- Experience with content planning, analytics, and reporting
- Strong photography and video content creation skills preferred
- Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite including Adobe Express, Canva, Hootsuite, Sprout Social, or similar platforms preferred
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and stakeholders across multiple offices
- Interest in architecture, design, workplace culture, innovation, and the built environment
