Senior Linux Systems Engineer (Telecommunications Software)

They are looking for a Senior Linux Systems Engineer to support and deploy complex Linux-based communication platforms in customer environments. This role is ideal for someone with a strong Red Hat Linux background who enjoys troubleshooting complex technical issues, supporting production environments, and working directly with customers.

This is not a traditional help desk role and it is not a network engineering position. The primary focus is advanced Linux administration, troubleshooting, deployment, and production support. Experience supporting telecom or IP communications platforms is highly desirable but not required.

Responsibilities

• Support and troubleshoot enterprise Linux production environments
• Deploy and maintain Linux-based communication platforms
• Investigate application, operating system, and infrastructure issues
• Perform root cause analysis using Linux command-line tools
• Analyze system logs and troubleshoot complex production incidents
• Work closely with customer engineering teams during deployments and support activities
• Configure and support virtualized Linux environments
• Automate deployment and configuration tasks using Ansible
• Collaborate with development teams to resolve software defects
• Serve as a senior technical resource for complex customer issues

• 5+ years of hands-on Linux administration or Linux systems engineering experience
• Strong experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL)
• Advanced Linux command-line troubleshooting skills
• Experience supporting enterprise production environments
• Strong understanding of system administration and Linux infrastructure
• Experience with VMware
• Experience with Ansible or other automation tools
• Excellent troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills
• Strong customer-facing communication skills
