Cyber Data Protection/PKI Specialist Senior Consultant

Experteer Overview In this role you will act as a subject matter expert to help clients assess and implement data protection and encryption strategies, including PKI lifecycle management, across cloud and on-prem environments. You will lead security architecture and delivery workstreams, advise on best practices, and stay ahead of evolving cryptography trends. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to design scalable, secure data protection solutions and drive successful client outcomes. Compensation / Benefits * Serve as SME and trusted advisor on data protection, encryption, and PKI requirements across environments * Design, implement, and operate data protection solutions and PKI architectures, including certificate management and lifecycle * Lead client engagements, drive execution, and communicate progress to clients and firm leadership * Monitor project timelines and ensure on-time, on-budget delivery * Stay current on encryption tech (post-quantum crypto, confidential computing, secure enclaves, envelope encryption) and industry trends * Evaluate and recommend new tools and solutions to enhance data security Tasks * Bachelor’s degree in a related field * 5+ years in data protection and information security (incl. encryption, CLM, cloud security) * 2+ years hands-on PKI experience (certificates, CAs, RA, CSR, OCSP, CRL, HSM) * 2+ years with encryption technologies (PKI, TLS, database/file encryption) and cloud encryption concepts (BYOK) * 2+ years in data protection strategy, roadmaps, and frameworks * 2+ years hands-on experience with CLM platforms (e.g., AppViewX, Venafi, Keyfactor, DigiCert) * 2+ years cryptographic standards and protocols (TLS/SSL, SSH, S/MIME, code signing, NIST) * 2+ years certificate discovery, inventory, automation, renewal, compliance monitoring * 2+ years collaboration across IT, legal/compliance, and executives * 2+ years client-facing skills and leading small teams/workstreams * Willingness to travel 25-50% * Professional certifications such as CISSP or CISM (preferred) Key requirements *
