Lead Databricks Forward Deployed Engineer - GPS

Experteer Overview As a Lead Databricks FDE, you will guide senior, client-facing engineering pods that deploy GenAI solutions into production for strategic clients. You set technical direction, unblock delivery, and contribute hands-on design, review, and debugging. You translate trade-offs for client leaders and influence executives while keeping credibility in technical delivery. Pods may operate onshore or in hybrid configurations to maximize speed and scale. You will partner with cross-functional teams to drive measurable impact from GenAI initiatives. Compensation / Benefits * Lead client-facing engineering pods, owned delivery health and resource management * Define success metrics and phased plans from prototype to production * Set technical direction, review architectures, and ensure quality across the pod * Engage with executive sponsors and business owners to align vision * Architect and oversee GenAI solution delivery including copilots and RAG pipelines * Define prompt engineering, tool-use patterns, and human-in-the-loop controls * Govern end-to-end RAG design, ingestion, embedding, and deployment at scale * Review production-quality code and guide data pipelines and CI/CD practices * Mentor junior engineers and collaborate with onshore/offshore delivery teams * Represent Deloitte’s FDE capability in client pursuits and platform partnerships Tasks * Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science or Engineering * Secret level security clearance * 10+ years of software/data/analytics engineering experience * 6+ years building and deploying GenAI/LLM-powered solutions in production * 6+ years of Databricks experience with Lakeflow Connect, Lakebase, Agent Bricks, Model Serving, Genie, or Databricks Apps * 6+ years leading project workstreams and translating business problems into AI solutions * 5+ years developing reliable, maintainable code with CI/CD in Databricks * Ability to travel ~50% * Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship * Professional Databricks certifications Key requirements *
