Job description

This is an opportunity to register your interest in future Power BI Specialist positions within data and business intelligence teams. Roles of this type could involve designing, developing and maintaining Power BI solutions that drive data-driven decision-making across the organisation. These are contract-based positions based in Reading, Berkshire, and could support the delivery of actionable insights to stakeholders., Roles of this type may sit within collaborative data and analytics teams, working alongside business analysts, data engineers and stakeholders across the business. The work could involve translating requirements into scalable Power BI solutions, managing data quality, and ensuring reports and dashboards deliver meaningful insights. You could have scope to work with data pipelines, optimise visualisations and engage with stakeholders to understand their evolving analytics needs., * Designing and developing Power BI reports and dashboards to support business decision-making

  • Managing data quality and ensuring accuracy of data visualisations
  • Working with data pipelines and SQL to extract, transform and prepare data for analysis
  • Engaging with stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions
  • Optimising existing Power BI solutions for performance and usability
  • Supporting troubleshooting and maintenance of reporting infrastructure
  • Collaborating with data engineers and analysts to deliver end-to-end analytics solutions, Most roles of this type offer the following, dependent on the industry and seniority of the role:

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field
  • Microsoft Power BI Certification or demonstrated expertise in Power BI development
  • Proficiency in SQL and data quality analysis
  • Experience working with data pipelines and preparing data for analytics
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills and ability to translate business requirements
  • Proficiency with Excel and data visualisation best practices
  • Experience working in a collaborative analytics or BI environment

Nice-to-have skills could include:

  • Experience with Azure data services or cloud platforms
  • Knowledge of APIs or microservices architectures
  • Familiarity with additional BI tools or analytics platforms
  • Background in .NET or other programming languages
