Job description

Roles of this type may sit within teams focused on translating business requirements into robust Power BI solutions. The work could involve collaborating with stakeholders to understand data needs, building scalable dashboards and reports, and ensuring data quality and integrity throughout the analytics pipeline. You would operate in a contract-based capacity, contributing specialist expertise to support organisations in leveraging their data assets effectively., * Designing and developing Power BI dashboards and reports that translate business requirements into actionable insights

  • Collaborating with stakeholders to understand data needs, scope and success criteria
  • Building data models and ensuring data quality throughout the analytics pipeline
  • Managing data connections, ETL processes and API integrations to support report functionality
  • Troubleshooting performance issues and optimising queries for efficiency
  • Documenting solutions and supporting knowledge transfer to end users

Requirements

  • Proven experience developing Power BI solutions in a professional or project environment
  • Strong proficiency in Power BI desktop and service, including DAX and Power Query
  • Working knowledge of SQL and data modelling principles
  • Experience with data quality analysis and stakeholder engagement in data initiatives
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline
  • Microsoft Power BI Certification (or willingness to obtain)
  • Strong communication skills and ability to translate technical concepts for business audiences

Nice-to-have experience includes:

  • Familiarity with Azure data services or cloud-based analytics platforms
  • Experience with APIs and microservices in data pipeline contexts
  • Knowledge of additional tools such as Excel or Python for data analysis
