Job description
Roles of this type sit within collaborative technical teams focused on delivering robust, scalable data infrastructure. You could be working on designing and implementing data pipelines, ensuring data quality across complex systems, and collaborating with stakeholders to understand data requirements. These positions typically involve working with cloud platforms, containerisation technologies and modern DevOps practices to support data-driven organisations., * Designing and building scalable data pipelines and infrastructure using cloud platforms such as Azure or AWS
- Implementing data quality checks and validation frameworks to ensure reliability of data systems
- Working with stakeholders to gather data requirements and translate them into technical solutions
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to align data pipeline architecture with business needs
- Deploying and maintaining containerised applications using Docker and Kubernetes
- Supporting CI/CD practices and automation to improve infrastructure reliability
- Troubleshooting and optimising data pipeline performance
- Contributing to infrastructure-as-code initiatives using tools such as Terraform, Most roles of this type offer the following, dependent on the industry and seniority of the role:

Requirements
- Proven experience building and maintaining data pipelines and data infrastructure
- Working knowledge of cloud platforms, particularly Azure or AWS
- Familiarity with containerisation and orchestration tools such as Docker and Kubernetes
- Experience with CI/CD practices and automation tooling
- Strong SQL skills and understanding of database systems
- Proficiency in at least one programming language such as Python, Java or similar
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
- Experience with data quality analysis and ensuring data reliability
- Ability to gather and understand data requirements from stakeholders
Nice-to-have capabilities could include:
- Master’s degree qualification
- Google Cloud Data Engineer certification
- Experience with SAP systems (S/4HANA, ECC, RISE)
- Familiarity with Power BI or similar BI tools
- Knowledge of microservices architecture and distributed systems
- Experience with BPMN or UML for process design
