Job description
- Designing and building scalable data pipelines that ingest, process and deliver data reliably across cloud and on-premises environments
- Collaborating with data teams and stakeholders to gather data requirements and translate them into robust infrastructure solutions
- Working with technologies such as Azure, AWS or GCP to architect cloud-native data solutions, including containerisation with Docker and Kubernetes
- Implementing CI/CD practices to ensure data pipeline code is tested, versioned and deployed reliably
- Ensuring data quality and performing analysis to identify and resolve data integrity issues
- Supporting data stakeholders through the pipeline alignment process and maintaining clear communication on data availability and quality
- Contributing to the selection and implementation of data technologies, tools and frameworks that best serve the organisation’s needs
- Documenting data architecture, pipelines and infrastructure decisions to support team knowledge and operational clarity, Most roles of this type offer the following, dependent on the industry and seniority of the role:

Requirements
- Experience designing, building or maintaining data pipelines and infrastructure in production environments
- Working knowledge of cloud platforms (Azure, AWS or GCP) and related data services
- Proficiency in at least one programming language commonly used in data engineering, such as Python, Java or similar
- Understanding of distributed systems concepts and how they apply to data infrastructure
- Experience with containerisation and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
- SQL knowledge and the ability to work with relational databases
- Familiarity with CI/CD practices and tools
- Authorization to work in the United Kingdom
Nice-to-have
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline; Master’s degree preferred
- Google Cloud Data Engineer certification or equivalent cloud-specific qualification
- Experience with data quality frameworks and tools
- Knowledge of APIs and microservices architecture
- Exposure to data requirements gathering and stakeholder engagement in data projects
- Familiarity with additional platforms such as SAP S/4HANA or SAP ECC
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform
