Job description

We’re looking to build our data platform capabilities with a Data Infrastructure Engineer who can design, develop and maintain the pipelines and systems that power data-driven decision-making across the organisation. Roles of this type sit within data engineering teams responsible for building and maintaining the data pipelines, infrastructure and systems that support analytics, reporting and business intelligence across the organisation. The work could involve designing data architectures, managing cloud infrastructure, implementing CI/CD practices and ensuring data quality across integrated systems. You could work with cross-functional stakeholders to gather data requirements, align pipeline development with business needs and maintain high standards of data governance., * Designing and implementing scalable data pipelines and infrastructure to support analytics and reporting

  • Managing cloud-based data platforms and ensuring reliable, high-performance systems
  • Implementing CI/CD practices and automation to improve deployment and data quality processes
  • Collaborating with data teams and stakeholders to gather data requirements and align technical solutions with business objectives
  • Monitoring data quality, identifying issues and implementing solutions to maintain data integrity
  • Working with APIs, microservices and distributed systems to integrate data from multiple sources
  • Supporting infrastructure as code practices using tools such as Terraform and configuration management
  • Contributing to the technical design and documentation of data solutions

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline
  • Proven experience designing and implementing data pipelines and data infrastructure
  • Solid understanding of data quality principles, data requirements gathering and stakeholder engagement
  • Working knowledge of cloud platforms (Azure, AWS or GCP) and containerisation technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
  • Experience with SQL and at least one modern programming language (Python, Java or similar)
  • Familiarity with CI/CD practices and tools
  • Authorization to work in the United Kingdom

Nice-to-have

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science
  • Google Cloud Data Engineer certification
  • Experience with distributed systems architecture and microservices
  • Knowledge of infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform
  • Familiarity with additional technologies such as SAP S/4HANA, Power BI or Linux administration
