Job description

  • Serves as subject matter expert, individually motivated and operating with a sense of urgency and personal accountability
  • Manages multiple technology projects simultaneously
  • Adheres to PMO processes and maintains project management documents for use throughout the project
  • Supports and drives timely implementation of projects
  • Builds, tracks, and updates project schedules in Service Now
  • Manages deadlines and ensures project timelines are met
  • Implements project scope and budget controls
  • Elicits, analyzes, and documents business requirements and processes as needed
  • Collaborates with customers to assess/validate requirements to ensure proper solution functionality
  • Works directly with IT service lines to prioritize tasks and assignments on projects, ensuring that the appropriate resources are assigned to projects
  • Coordinates with vendors and suppliers as needed; obtains and submits purchase requests
  • Monitors vendor SOWs to ensure commitments are being met accurately and on time
  • Works with vendor PMs to plan and execute deliverables
  • Assesses escalations identified by project teams and escalates to leadership when necessary
  • Develops thorough communication plans, including communication content development
  • Develops presentations for various audiences
  • Facilitates and leads various types of meetings, including project planning/status meetings, technical discussions, stakeholder meetings, and vendor meetings
  • Performs other related technology duties and projects as assigned

Requirements

Do you have experience in Writing skills?, Do you have a Bachelor’s degree?, * Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor Degree in Business, Computer Science or a closely related field, and 7+ years’ of Project Management experience in a technology environment; or an equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Must have a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
  • Must have experience managing IT projects and working with technology vendors
  • Excellent knowledge of information technology industry and an extensive understanding of project management methods and tools
  • Experience in business process analysis methods for requirements gathering and validation
  • Keen ability to asses risk and mitigate issues, providing recommendations for pivoting implementation strategy or project approach when necessary
  • Ability to represent the County in a professional and effective manner; ability to interpret and explain policies and procedure; ability to facilitate meetings with little or no oversight and have outstanding follow up; ability to show assertiveness, leadership, problem-solving skills, and team-building; ability to persuade and influence others, drive collaboration, achieve effective solutions, and manage multiple projects simultaneously; ability to effectively communicate complex ideas in a clear and concise manner across functional and technical departments, both verbally and in writing; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, stakeholders, County employees, Elected/Appointed Officials, outside organizations and agencies, vendors and the general public
  • Demonstrates technological intuitiveness
  • Must have exemplary writing skills
  • Must secure and maintain a favorable background investigation and clearance
  • Must clear a pre-employment physical and a pre-employment drug screen test, * Project Management Office (PMO) experience
  • Understanding of government purchasing standards and practices
  • Experience reviewing SOWs/SLAs/MSAs and other forms of contracts and agreements
  • Excellent PowerPoint presentation development skills
  • Above-average proficiency using Microsoft Project and Excel

Working Environment and Physical Demands:

  • Constantly working in indoor / telework conditions
  • Frequently moves items weighing up to 10-15 pounds
  • Occasionally moves objects weighing up to 15-30 pounds Occasionally move about the office / telework office
  • Frequently communicates with others using approved technological resources; must be able to exchange accurate information through designated systems within a timely manner
  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery
  • Positions self to perform essential functions of the job in an office / telework environment Must be able to remain in a stationary position
  • Flexibility to achieve performance excellence in a telework arrangement
  • Maintains County-issued equipment, software, data and supplies
