Job description

Under the general supervision of the Information Technology Supervisor I, Technology Resource Management Unit, the Information Technology Associate (ITA) serves as an Telecom and IT Procurement Analyst. The Telecom and IT Procurement Analyst will support telecommunications services for the California Department of Tax and Fee Administration (CDTFA) Headquarters and field offices which includes telecommunication equipment procurement, service administration, billing analysis, and resolving invoice discrepancies. The ITA also provides backup support for CDTFA IT procurement activities and limited backup support for Technology Services Division budget activities. The incumbent is responsible for preparing thorough analyses, maintaining comprehensive records, coordinating with technical and administrative personnel, carriers, vendors, and control agencies, and offering informed recommendations related to telecommunications services, IT procurement, and budget activities., Under Government Code 14200, this position may be eligible for partial telework for eligible candidates residing in California. All telework/hybrid schedules require staff to report to the office a minimum number of days per week.   1. Describe your experience supporting telecommunications, voice/data services, or other technology services. Include your experience, if any, reviewing service requests, coordinating additions, changes or disconnections, maintaining service records, working with telecommunications providers or vendors, and reviewing or resolving billing discrepancies.
  2. Describe your experience supporting information technology procurements. Include your experience preparing or reviewing purchase requests, conducting research, developing supporting documentation or business justifications, coordinating with customers or procurement staff, and tracking purchases through completion.
  3. Describe your experience reviewing financial information, invoices, expenditures, or budgets. Provide an example that demonstrates this experience.

Requirements

Individuals who are currently in the classification, eligible for lateral transfer, eligible for reinstatement, have list or LEAP eligibility, are in the process of obtaining list eligibility, or have SROA and/or Surplus eligibility (please attach your letter, if available). SROA and Surplus candidates are given priority; therefore, individuals with other eligibility may be considered in the event no SROA or Surplus candidates apply. Individuals who are eligible for a Training and Development assignment may also be considered for this position(s).
