Job description
Our client is seeking a Desktop Technician to join their IT Support team in Cincinnati, OH. This is a hands-on desktop support role focused on providing technical assistance to end users, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, and ensuring a smooth desktop computing experience across the organization.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys solving technical problems, working directly with users, and supporting a fast-paced IT environment.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Configure, image, and deploy desktops, laptops, and other end-user devices
- Provide support through the IT Help Desk via phone, chat, and in-person interactions
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, printer, and network connectivity issues
- Manage and resolve support tickets using ServiceNow or a similar ticketing system
- Install, configure, and maintain desktop applications and peripherals
- Escalate complex technical issues to appropriate IT teams when necessary
- Perform routine system maintenance, upgrades, and equipment replacements
- Document solutions and contribute to IT knowledge base articles
- Support users with technology questions and provide basic training when needed
- Maintain service levels and effectively manage assigned ticket queues
Requirements
- Experience working with a ticketing system such as ServiceNow
- Strong troubleshooting experience with desktops, laptops, printers, and peripherals
- Knowledge of Windows operating systems and basic networking concepts
- Experience providing customer-facing technical support in a professional environment
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work independently and collaborate with cross-functional IT teams
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting macOS environments
- Familiarity with Active Directory
- Experience with remote support tools and device imaging solutions
- Associate degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field
- CompTIA A+ or Microsoft desktop support certifications
