Job description

  • Respond to help desk requests and provide clear, customer-focused technical support for hardware, software, operating systems, and Microsoft Office.
  • Diagnose and resolve desktop support issues involving Windows, macOS, Linux, computer hardware, VPN (virtual private network), LAN (local area network), and computer networking.
  • Perform hardware maintenance, hardware support, software troubleshooting, and computer management; document work and resolutions in BMC Remedy.
  • Support Active Directory management, including user accounts and access, and assist with system administration and Windows Server administration.
  • Escalate complex issues appropriately and communicate status, steps, and solutions to users and IT colleagues.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated IT support, desktop support, help desk, or technical troubleshooting support experience.
  • Technical proficiency with Windows support, operating systems, Microsoft Office, computer hardware, and common software troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with Active Directory, system administration, Windows Server administration, computer networking, VPN, and LAN; exposure to macOS and Linux is helpful.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills, with the ability to explain technical steps clearly to users.
  • Experience with BMC Remedy and hardware maintenance is preferred.
