Job description

The post holder will take a lead role working collaboratively with a wide range of partners across the system to support the implementation of the Living Well initiative. They will work across a broad range of communications and engagement disciplines including; media and public relations, digital communications, engagement and consultation activities.

They will be responsible for creating/co-creating and delivering internal and external communication and marketing campaigns, events and other activities. This includes both Mac and PC operatons, creation and design of all artwork, fluent in Adobe Creative Suite, for all printed and digital materials to promote and embed the Living Well brand. Taking a lead role in the creation, development and management of the Living Well website including monthly analytics reporting, co-ordinating proactive media relations, PR activity, online digital, social media and e-communication initiatives to a wide range of audiences.

They will link in with other programmes of work and initiatives being delivered across the system to support and facilitate the alignment of communication and marketing activities that work towards embedding a multisectoral approach to the Living Well initiative.

The post holder will also support the delivery and evaluation of the Living Well enabler projects by working closely with project leads to develop a wide range of communications and marketing resources to raise the profile of Living Well; to ensure that the work is aligned and contributing to the delivery of the Living Well agenda and wider Public Health outcomes.

Main Responsibilities of Post:

  1. Establish links with internal Council departments, external organisations, Living Well settings and other providers, locally, regionally and nationally and have operational responsibility for all external communications and engagement with the media and stakeholders.

  2. Create networks with comms providers from external organisations to align and coordinate health messaging locally and regionally and develop and maintain links with internal and external stakeholders, clients and suppliers.Identify and work collaboratively with local, regional and national organisations to instigate the creation of localised materials.

  3. Design of initial concepts and all artwork for Living Well materials using Adobe Creative Suite, industry standard software for physical print and digital materials (including social media, project campaign materials, advertising, press releases, posters, leaflets, large format, e-newsletters and website content and internal documents). Creation of infographics to detail complex data. Oversight of all externally produced materials for projects including creation of film/animation storyboards.

  4. Responsible for managing and uploading content and responding to enquiries for all Living Well social media channels (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter) including weekends and out of hours (24/7) and responsible for creation, upkeep, expansion and GDPR compliance of Living Well photo library.

  5. Responsible for running monthly reports of indepth analytics for website, social media and e-bulletins along with creation of infographic to show highlights.

  6. Responsible for the development and implementation of comms plans for all Living Well projects delivered both internally and externally, working collaboratively with NHS Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) and Voluntary Community Sector (VCS) to align health messaging and communications.

  7. Develop and implement a fully integrated communications and marketing strategy with a flexible innovative approach, using the latest evidence-based interventions for health behaviour change.

  8. Co-ordinate and plan proactive and reactive media relations and PR activity with responsiblity for creation and distribution of monthly e-newsletter bulletins to subscribers.

  9. Plan and implement consultation and engagement strategies with local and statutory stakeholders in order to inform the direction of behaviour change for all demographics and identify possible barriers to behaviour change; develop appropriate solutions and ensure goals are specific, measurable, attainable, relevant and timely.

  10. Work collaboratively with Public Health Specialists and be responsible for developing the Living Well website, including uploading all content using a dedicated CMS system, navigation, external and internal requests, governance and future development.
