Job description
Our Human Resources and Organisational Development (HROD) Department will play a key role in supporting the development and implementation of our evolving People Strategy which will enable the delivery of the Aston 2030 strategy. The key areas of responsibility for this role include the administration of Aston University's HR systems, providing support, guidance and training to users and collecting and processing data for management information reporting., The HR Systems Advisor will be responsible for supporting the operationalising of the People Strategy under the direction of the HROD leadership, Strategic & Stakeholder Support
Support HROD leadership in delivering and operationalising the Aston People Strategy.
Identify risks and opportunities related to people data and systems.
Build effective relationships with academic and professional services colleagues.
Provide regular progress updates to the Head of HR Systems.
User Support & Training
Provide helpdesk-style support to users of all HROD systems, including:
HR Management System
Learning Management System
Payroll System
Vacancy Manager
Any additional HR or OD systems
Produce and maintain high-quality user guides, training materials and videos.
Deliver engaging training sessions in collaboration with Learning, Development & Talent partners.
Systems Administration & Data Management
Manage user permissions and system security to ensure appropriate access.
Maintain organisational hierarchies and ensure systems reflect the current University structure.
Support data accuracy, system content updates, and automated messaging workflows.
Maintain and develop HROD's intranet pages, including supporting a major intranet migration.
Work with the HR Systems team on planned development, testing and deployment of new system functionality.
Ensure all HROD data is stored securely and held in line with policy and legislation.
