Job description

We are seeking a dedicated IT Support Engineer to join our dynamic technology team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing technical assistance and support to end-users, ensuring the smooth operation of hardware and software systems across the organisation. This role offers an excellent opportunity to utilise and develop a broad range of IT skills within a professional environment, supporting both internal teams and external clients. Applicants should possess strong problem-solving abilities, excellent communication skills, and a proactive approach to technical support., * Respond promptly to user requests for assistance via help desk tickets or direct communication channels.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to computer hardware, operating systems (Windows, macOS, Linux), and software applications.
  • Maintain and support computer networks, including LAN, VPN, firewall configurations, and connectivity issues.
  • Assist with desktop support tasks such as installing, configuring, and updating hardware and software components.
  • Monitor system performance and perform routine maintenance to prevent potential issues.
  • Document technical procedures and solutions using tools such as BMC Remedy, ServiceNow, or Jira.
  • Collaborate with other IT team members to implement system upgrades or new technology deployments.
  • Provide excellent customer service by communicating clearly with users at all levels of technical proficiency.
  • Assist in maintaining security protocols and ensuring compliance with organisational policies.

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of computer networking concepts including LAN, VPNs, firewalls, and operating systems.
  • Proven experience in software troubleshooting and desktop support across Windows, macOS, and Linux platforms.
  • Familiarity with IT support tools such as BMC Remedy, ServiceNow, or Jira for ticket management.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical issues clearly to non-technical users.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite applications and other relevant software tools.
  • Experience with computer hardware maintenance and upgrades.
  • Knowledge of security protocols including firewall management and VPN configuration.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
