Principal Systems Engineer - 19029

Experteer Overview In this role you will lead hardware/software integration for hypersonic programs, shaping next-gen re-entry vehicles and payloads. You’ll work within the Flight Systems Futures unit to mature concepts into credible, testable solutions for national deterrence. Collaborating with vendors and cross-functional teams, you’ll manage requirements, configuration, and verification to meet cost, schedule, and performance goals. This is a high-impact, fast-paced environment that values innovation and hands-on problem solving. Compensation / Benefits * Serve as Responsible Engineer for hardware and software items from external vendors or internal work orders * Interpret drawings, datasheets, and test reports to assess requirements applicability * Collaborate with vendors to resolve technical issues while protecting cost, schedule, and performance targets * Review and approve subcontract deliverables per data requirements list * Assist in managing subcontractor statements of work and performance (may require travel) * Maintain configuration control and ensure items meet engineering standards (CMMI, MILSTD498, etc.) * Provide status reports and risk updates to Talon program leadership * Participate in cross-functional design, trade, and verification reviews; support source selection * Document decisions, nonconformances, and corrective actions in requirements traceability and CM tools Tasks * Bachelor’s in Systems, Software, or related STEM with 5+ years of experience; or MS with 3+ years; or PhD with 1+ year * US Citizen with current/active Top Secret clearance (renewed or initiated within 6 years) * Must currently have SAP or able to obtain and maintain SAP * 3+ years full lifecycle MBSE with SysML tools (IBM Rhapsody, Cameo, SysML v2) and system models * 3+ years requirements writing, management, and tracing (DOORS, Jama, Polarion); verification planning and test procedures; ICDs for hardware/software interfaces * Strong written and verbal communication; ability to present to senior leadership and customers Key requirements * Medical, Dental & Vision coverage * 401k * Educational Assistance * Life Insurance * Paid Time Off * Employee Discounts
