Job description

Under the general direction of Information Technology Manager I (IT Mgr I), the Information Technology Associate (IT Assoc) serves as a functional support analyst in the Business Systems & Analysis Unit. The position provides internal client support for CDT’s human resources, learning management, and financial applications/systems (currently Oracle PeopleSoft) and related IT projects. The incumbent performs daily technical operational support and maintenance duties for the Oracle PeopleSoft ERP applications. The incumbent works independently to provide first-level troubleshooting support for CDT’s internal business applications. The position provides functional business analysis and project support for system enhancements and upgrades. Telework is available.

Telework This position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule within California based on departmental policy and operational needs. The telework policy is subject to change depending on business needs, and/or reporting to the work site may be required with minimal notification given. Pursuant to Executive Order, effective July 1, 2025, employees in this position will be required to report to the work site a minimum of two (2) days per week, increasing to four (4) days per week effective July 1, 2026. Effective July 1, 2025, State employees are subject to a salary reduction of three percent in exchange for five hours per month of the Personal Leave.

  • Experience conducting business analysis and soliciting, understanding, and verifying business requirements.
  • Experience with State payroll, leave accounting, and position management systems. CDT currently uses SCO legacy systems and PeopleSoft Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Human Capital Management.
  • Knowledge of and experience with PeopleSoft Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Human Capital Management, Enterprise Learning Management, and Financials
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate technology fundamentals to business teams.
  • Knowledge of core human resources and financial business processes and operations.
  • Knowledge and experience utilizing ServiceNow.
  • Knowledge and experience utilizing collaborative tools including SharePoint, Microsoft Teams
  • Knowledge and experience in project management practices for managing application upgrades, migrations, and other IT projects.
  • Knowledge and experience in change management involving business processes and organizational change.
  • Knowledge and experience in Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including Agile, Waterfall, and hybrid methodologies.
  • Knowledge and experience working in a large, complex, and customer-focused service delivery environment.
