Job description

The Technical Administrator (Engineering) provides essential administrative, documentation, and coordination support to engineering teams. This role ensures accurate control of engineering documents, assists with project and maintenance workflows, and supports engineers with data entry, reporting, and communication tasks to keep engineering operations running efficiently., * Maintain and control engineering documents, drawings, revision histories, and technical records.

  • Support engineers with administrative tasks such as preparing reports, updating registers, and managing project documentation.
  • Coordinate the submission, review, and approval of engineering change requests (ECRs/ECOs).
  • Assist with scheduling engineering activities, maintenance tasks, and project milestones.
  • Manage engineering inboxes, communication logs, and correspondence with suppliers, contractors, and internal teams.
  • Maintain asset records, equipment lists, calibration data, and technical databases.
  • Create and update spreadsheets, trackers, and dashboards to support engineering KPIs.
  • Support procurement activities by raising purchase requisitions, tracking deliveries, and maintaining supplier documentation.
  • Prepare meeting minutes, technical memos, and progress summaries for engineering leadership.
  • Assist with compliance audits by ensuring documentation is accurate, up to date, and aligned with engineering standards.
  • Help maintain engineering quality and safety documentation (RAMS, procedures, SOPs, checklists).
  • Ensure all engineering documents follow version control, naming conventions, and filing procedures.

Requirements

  • Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Engineering Technology, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Experience in engineering administration, document control, or technical office support preferred.
  • Familiarity with engineering terminology, technical drawings, and maintenance documentation.
  • Strong proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and experience with document control or ERP systems.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with engineering, maintenance, production, and project teams.
